Description: |
Traditionally, tales were told and songs sung as part of every day community life - as clothes were washed, butter churned, bread baked and fishing nets mended. Storyteller Claire Hewitt shares case studies of combined storytelling and handwork activities such as sewing, knitting, felting and bread making that work well today in communities, schools and homes. Experience the pleasure of hands and minds united in a story, and explore some ways of developing your own story and activity combinations. A participative day particularly aimed at storytellers, community workers, education officers, teachers and carers who want to expand their repertoire and diversify. |
